The purpose of playing a musical instrument is self-expression, communication with the audience through the performance of music, or the performer’s thought process available to the listener. Self-expression is hindered by technical difficulties that arise everywhere. As a result, the musician thinks about overcoming them more than about giving the music any meaning at all. And when the question of interpretation arises, a lot of artistic problems arise, connected with style and with the formation of thought.
My task as a teacher is to give absolute freedom to the musician and the opportunity to harmoniously realize the most daring ideas. I try to give as many tools as possible to achieve these goals, namely: complete technical freedom, which consists in owning the instrument, and genuine freedom of interpretation, which allows you to play the same piece in completely different ways and express in it, for example, non-obvious contradictions; for this I have developed various methods and techniques.
I see the development of the own style for each musician as a particularly important task for a teacher. And this is a very difficult task, since those few who have found their own style have achieved it alone while many others gave up altogether or continued to play and think the way they were taught. The task of the teacher is to inspire, direct, show completely different styles, understand what the student likes and help in the formation of his/her own style, while using the most effective (fast-working) methods to develop technique and mastery of the instrument.
